 Nakia has more than sixteen years of nonprofit fundraising experience in capturing support from corporate sponsors, grant funders, and individual donors. She also has a background in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) which supports projects that deliver equitable opportunities to underserved communities and marginalized populations.

As Director of Development and Grants for Rejuvenation Support Services, Nakia connects the organization to advocates, funders, and philanthropists who are committed to providing a path to sustainability and economic empowerment for individuals returning home from prison. Her fundraising success includes awards of more than $20 million combined in private and federal funding. 

Nakia's passion for nonprofit expansion started in her teenage years as the leader of a high-profile youth organization in her hometown of Boston, MA. As a North Carolina resident for more than 20 years, her investment in community work and nonprofit organizations in the human services sector spans more than 10 counties across the state. Given her propensity to help nonprofit leaders develop vital relationships with stakeholders across industries, she is professionally known as "The Connector."
